APRIL 2026
favorites, constant repeats, etc.
IN APRIL 2026
it’s been a while since i’ve posted… so sorry. the end of 2025 and early 2026 has been fleeting. alas, i’m back with some favorites + updates!
IN THE STARS
i know there was some ruling of aries this month - i don’t exactly know what it means but god, it made me tired. i saw an instagram reel of madonna on the coachella main stage breaking it down in pop terms. taurus season is finally here (ahhhh) which to me just signals groundedness and back-to-earthness - which i love.
i used to be much more tapped into the astrological planes of the universe but since my career grind began in 2021, i’ve been out of the loop and lost a bit of the language (imagine that?) so let me know how you’ve been feeling and what you’re looking forward to in may / what we should be weary of in the coming months!
IN THE CURRENT MOMENT
i’ve been quietly building. a framework for substack so i can be consistent, a system for posting on linkedin regularly, a content calendar for the studio’s socials, and a smart budget that works for me.
in the age of ai, i’m anxious every single day. i think about it more than i use it, and when i do use it, i make sure it’s working for me - not the other way around. i’m proud of myself for leaning in, learning the language rather than avoiding it altogether (a past version of me would have done this). i think a part of me knows that if i am intentional with this tool, i can keep up with the integration of humanity and artificial intelligence (without “falling behind”) while also maintaining my moral integrity. it’s a challenging experiment - i’ll report back on this next month.

ON THE SILVER SCREEN
The Drama — I went in having not seen the trailer. Best decision of my life. I laughed, I was wide eyed, I was thoroughly entertained.
The Pitt — the way this show depicts work and personal relationship dynamics, misogyny, workplace hierarchy, and the role that feminine energy plays in a whirlwind environment is exceptional.

ON MY SHELF
All About Love, Bell Hooks
I take my time with books. I think of them like a new coworker-turned-friend who I spent a lot of time with after meeting them because their energy fills me up. And then overtime, life happens, my calendar fills with other things and I see that person less (read that book less). But when we catch up over coffee or some tea in the evening, it’s lovely.
How to Fail at Almost Anything and Still Win Big, …
One of my mentors gifted me this book years ago. Similarly to All About Love, I have the same relationship with this read. When I’m in a season that is business focused, or I need a reset / realignment to get back on the grind, I’ll pick this up.
107 Days, Kamala Harris (audiobook)
I’ve been listening to this when I feel a bit bogged down to remind myself of what could have been and what can be.
IN MY SHOPPING CART
Our Legacy Boots — I’ve had these boot in my cart for about 3 years now. One day, when I get a salary bump, I will be buying these. LS
Linder Sport — I recently learned about this brand and I really like their basics. I haven’t seen them irl, so I can’t confirm if they’re actually good, but I think the price point is reasonable, so I may just purchase the items that I’ve added to my cart!
IN THE COMMENTS SECTION
@johnpatrikas — i came across this creative director (thanks to the algo) and i think he’s one to watch.
@damizza — this guy posts real time commentary on music business, etc. and his takes are generally non-biased and purely insightful, which i love.
@conwayrecordingstudios — after stepping into my new role at the studio, i kicked off a digital marketing campaign by joining the masses on instagram. we’re defo late to the game, but i’m working on account growth and outbound engagement.
IN MY NOTEBOOK
journal prompts that have me pushing my pen + lower my screen time:
describe the version of your life you’re afraid to want out loud (scripting)
where in your career are you performing confidence you don’t yet feel, and what would it take to actually earn it
think of a person who irritates or unsettles you - what quality in them are you refusing to acknowledge in yourself
what parts of you have you edited out to be more palatable - irl and online
IN YOUR WORLD
i’d love to hear from you — what’s stopping you in your scroll, what music is releasing tension in your body, what videos are inspiring you, what creators do you keep coming back to?
if you found this insightful, interesting, entertaining, please consider subscribing. you’ll receive a monthly recap of what i’m reading, watching, listening to, and engaging with online + a monthly curated collection of journal prompts for your morning pages.
