MAY 2026
what i did, where i went, what i'm building
Hi again - life got a little busy so this is a touch late (giving myself grace) - let’s get into it!
May was SO fun. Like many people, I kicked off the month by seeing The Devil Wears Prada 2. For a sequel created 20 years later, it was well done (if you can get past the color grading). It held a mirror to the world in a multitude of ways - I left the theater feeling a bit more hopeful than when I entered.
Jack celebrated a birthday; we went to The Sunset Tower Hotel Bar on The Sunset Strip for drinks (a bottle of bubbly between us 7 girls), then to Genghis Cohen for dinner (the blonde chica at the front was the best - she cranked the volume for us when i asked, it was too quiet for giggles and chatter. We drank fun cocktails - a glass cracked, no blood shed, and the food was gooooood), then we skipped across town to The Black Cat for a night cap and dessert - a few other girls met us there, it was gorgeous.
Mid May, I kicked off The Tape Library, recording with Daesha and Amy. I’m not the best interviewer (yet) but I’m learning as I go! If you’re interested, you can read parts of our conversations on substack, or you can listen to full episodes on patreon. <3
My idea for The Tape Library came the night before the art show that we hosted at Casa Lucile in late April. If you missed that, be sure to follow us for the next one; you can listen to my DJ mix from the art show here. The Tape Library is inspired by Recho Omondi’s The Cutting Room Floor on patreon and Christina Holevas’ Habiter on substack. I want to crate avenues for people who, like myself, are grappling with the rise of AI in music while also trying to build a sustainable career in the industry, and I wanted to blend the formatting of their programming to make it more accessible, while keeping parts of the conversation behind a paywall. I’ll be chatting with singer/songwriters, folks in artist dev, DJs, producers, and writers. Follow us on Instagram to stay up to date on the latest!
In late May, I flew up north to celebrate my aunt’s wedding. I was apart of the wedding party which is always fun because I get to play the role of cast and crew. Seeing a bunch of old family members is (for me) always a good time. My little cousin and I got some extended 1 on 1 (he’s a shy boy) and he’s finally comfy around me which makes me really happy.
My aunt designed the aisle similar to a catwalk at a fashion show; chairs facing each other like a runway versus looking toward the alter. Her train was 10 feet long, 1 foot for every year her husband made her wait for marriage. She managed to remain unseen until the moment she stepped foot at the end of the aisle; her husband wore an eye mask, removing it briefly for photos on location. He was sure to not look in her direction to preserve the first look for the actual moment. They hired a sax player who decorated the evening with warm covers of some of their favorite songs, and the MC was exceptionally funny. Midway through dinner, hula dancers graced us with some traditional Hawaiian numbers, honoring our familial roots in Hawaii. You can see some of the wedding in my upcoming YouTube video, it’ll go live later this week so be sure to subscribe. :)
After the wedding, I flew home and prepared for Primavera in Barcelona. I’ll touch on that in my June post, xx
Later this month, I’m Audrey Hobart, and going to Joshua Tree with Rini for her birthday. I’m seeing Ariana Grande today at the Staples Center (never been, so excited). I haven’t seen Ari since she was at Coachella in 2019 - I’ll talk about this experience and Primavera in a talkback episode of The Tape Library. <3

From My Sublime Collection:
Detour / Kim Petras, I think this might be my favorite work of hers. So much of this sound like Gwen and Paris (to me), and it’s really nice to have good pop music coming out of LA, talking about LA. i love the love that LA get in this record.
How To Be A Human On The Internet / Kennedy Ann Roberts, my friend and former colleague started a substack that I enjoy. It’s hope and clarity of the human experience meets business and mindset shifts for a sustainable, intentional life.
Clicks Communicator, this is pretty nerdy of me to share, but I’ve been really keen on revising ways to use my phone less and be irl more. I’m deep in my phase of anti-convenience tech; I’m buying a truck from ‘03 and ditching my bells and whistles modern sedan. I want to swap out my phone for something that’s less connected, less “plugged-in”, more tactile, and quite frankly, more inconvenient for me to implement more challenge and less ease.
