morning pages, may 2026
i’m a “seasonal person” by nature meaning i latch onto something for an extended period of time and then it passes and i’m onto something else. currently, i’m in a deep work season: passion projects, biz dev and career ambitions are all at the forefront for me right now. i doubt i’m the only person to experience this ebb and flow but whenever i fall into this habitual exercise, especially when it’s work related, i tend to ignore my inner needs.
when i open my notebook and pour out a brain dump, that’s where realignment usually happens for me. i’ve been trying to find a flow where this can exist in my current flow state, but sometimes i do sacrifice my morning pages to catch up on rest, or to clock some extra hours on the final touches of a project.
all that to say, i’m still showing up and just trying my best!

in an effort to bridge the gap between my workhorse mindset and the serene time spent in my notebook, i spent some productive time scrolling, pulling journal prompts to make my mornings more efficient. i thought i’d share them with you below incase you’re in a similar season. <3

01
when is the last time you felt completely yourself? describe the moment in as much detail as you can.
02
what habit/routine are you up-keeping out of passivity rather than joy?
03
write a letter from your most grounded self to your current self. what do they need you to know right now?
04
if your relationship with yourself was like a friendship, how would you describe it to someone else?
05
list 10 things that are true about you that have nothing to do with what you produce, accomplish, or provide for others.
06
when was the last time you said yes to something you didn’t want to do? what were you afraid would happen if you said no?
07
describe your ideal weekday (non-vacation) in detail: what you smell in the morning, what you taste, where you place your items, etc.
08
what do you do when no one is watching and there’s nowhere to be?
09
what part of yourself have you been apologizing for lately that deserves a little more protection or grace?
10
what is something you’ve slowly outgrown but haven’t allowed yourself the permission to release it?
11
what would being gentle with yourself actually look like this week? not in concept, but in practice?
12
who in your life reflects the best version of you back to you?
13
if you could return to one version of yourself for a day (not to fix anything, just to visit) which version would you choose and why?
14
what is one thing you know about yourself right now, in this season, that you want to remember?

writing has always allowed me the space to remove the parts of myself that no longer serve me, and to remove any cloudiness from my direct access to the universe and my energetic portal. i’d love to hear what practices you tend to lean on to get you out of a funk, a bad day, a low season, or just something you do to make yourself feel a little bit lighter. drop it in the comments.
thank you for reading + subscribing -- lovu!

read your prompts aloud with my best friend on an 8 hour road trip <3 thank you for the food for thought
